AHGH: This is a great hotel with many pros but also a number of problems. If they fix the problems, this hotel can be the reason for many guests to come back to Lille city and enjoy a luxury stay, including myself.The building is huge and impressive with lots of historical character, and given its renovations, it is a beautiful blend of modern and classic architecture. It literally has places for you to explore, like a little museum, with beautiful green courtyards, old spaces that resemble a classic church or gathering area, and lots of architectural details, including sculptures. There is even a modern bar with nice, contemporary furniture.The room I had was large and beautiful with a unique layout and a beautiful modern bathroom. It had a cute classic space in the sleeping area with French furniture and a comfy bed. Even in the bedroom, there were some nice attention to details such as beautiful French picture frames, wooden walls, and exposed old wooden structures. The hotel has a cute pool and spa rooms that are all modern and nicely designed. The staff were also professional, kind, and helpful. A guy at the reception even gave me a tour. The hotel also has very good access to key areas. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and will recommend it for a very unique experience.There were some drawbacks too. Firstly, in the breakfast room, although the space was beautiful and historical and even the choice of French furniture was nice, the breakfast itself was very modest with very limited options. All the hot items had below average quality, and the plates and glasses were not as clean as I wanted. But the croissants and sweet stuff were very nice, though overall the breakfast didn't give me a luxury or 5-star vibe at all. Some of the modern art painting pieces across the hotel spaces were cheap and should be replaced with more authentic modern art paintings. In some of the old parts of the building, they have only painted the old walls to make it feel fresh with dark colors, instead of exposing the original bricks, and it kinda felt a little spooky in some of these areas, such as some of the corridors. The bathroom basin was made of a nice stone but was not perfectly cleaned. Some appliances, such as the hairdryer, were old and not up to standards. The same goes for the equipment to make tea or coffee, which were not at a 5-star level. The TV is located in the wrong place, so it's not practical to watch TV. The Wi-Fi internet was sometimes very poor. Overall, more effort is needed to bring a luxury feeling to the rooms, corridors, and the breakfast

Olivier Goossens: Our stay was OK for one night. We didn't sleep very well because our room was too hot, without any decent aircon or the possibility to open the window. Shower and TV were broken. I would rate the hotel 3* instead of 4*.At the breakfast unfortunately I had a piece of glass in my fruit salad, which lead to bleeding gums in my mouth. We told the waitress, but she simply didn't care. It made the rest of our day in Lille very unpleasant. This lovely little hotel was booked for us by the Eurostar because it's apparently the hotel that the staff stay at when traveling.Less than 2 minutes walk from the Lille train station, this hotel was accommodating from the very moment we walked in. A calming oasis in the busy city center, with calm lo-fi playing and smiley and friendly staff behind the check-in desk and bar for drinks. The attendant booked us in quickly, handed us our room key and added "You've got the best room", exactly what we want to hear.The executive suite was spacious, with good wifi, a large bathroom and drinks and snacks waiting for us. It was so silent after a day of stress that you could watch the busy city down below but hear only a pin drop.The shower in the morning was clean and powerful, exactly what you needed after a soft and quiet night's sleep in the spacious double bed. I can't give it a 5 star review however, because there are plenty of other hotel rooms I've stayed in that are much better.We woke up feeling like the staff had looked after us, and thanked them in the morning for their service.A really great hotel for a city transfer after the Eurostar.

Il y en a pour tous les goûts ! Petit bémol le premier jour où la file d'attente d'une vingtaine de minute s'allongeait jusque dans les escaliers de l'hôtel. Problème réglé les jours suivants !L'hotel en plein cœur de la ville permet des visites rapides. Nous aurions simplement souhaité être plus conseillé quant aux éventuelles visites à l'accueil.Néanmoins, je recommande cet hôtel. Le personnel est professionnel, souriant et à votre disposition. Le coffre dans la chambre, très pratique, était par contre mal positionné, il fallait se mettre à terre pour en profiter ! Petite odeur désagréable de "remontées" dans la salle d'eau en arrivant mais qui a été réglé en laissant la porte ouverte quelques heures. Grande douche très agréable. Peu de place pour accrocher ses vêtements mais assez de rangements pour les plier. Très bonne literie. Très bonne situation et l'insonorisation sur l'extérieur est plutôt réussie (vue sur la grande place) ! En résumé, personne n'est parfait, très bonne adresse :-)
